The Broad Museum

May 28, 2018

Bony African feet. Bone apple tea. Bone up the teet.  Bone app the teeth.

Easy cheap fun when traveling:
  1. Go to a museum.
It's an easy way to kill time and if you're lucky,  you'll go on a day that's free or you'll get a student discount (Keep your student ID, kids).

I've been to a museum in every city| state  I've travelled to except New York. However, I really want to go back and visit the Louis Vuitton exhibit.

General admission to The Broad is $FREE.99. Yes, you read that correctly!

We were lucky enough to snag tickets to The Broad last minute. When we were in LA we visited The Broad a total of 2 times. Both times we tried to go see the Yayoi Kusama's Infinity Mirror Rooms exhibit. Both times the wait was ridiculous. The second day we went the wait  to actually get inside the museum without tickets was even more ridiculous (over 1 hour).

If you're planning a trip, scoop some tickets early! As of writing this post, the earliest available day for tickets is June 6th, which isn't terrible. When we went for spring break in 2017 the wait was about 1 month out.

Even after waiting all that time to get into the mirror rooms exhibit, I still want to go back to LA and try to see it one more time before it comes to Atlanta in 2019.

I've been to a museum before (The High Museum in Atlanta), but that was on a school field trip, and to be honest, I wasn't really paying attention.

Not to sound cliché, but The Broad sparked my love for museums. They're easy places to get lost and "tune out the world".

Here are a few of my favorite pieces from the museum:

In case nobody has told you today.

Growing up I always wanted someone to make me an animal shaped balloon. This will do.

THIS IS A PAINTING!

Pieces from Jean-Michel Basquiat!
